The thing about feeling accepted is that the only approval you need is your own. Everyone else, everything else, is secondary. You are beautiful, exactly how you are. Don't ignore the light that emanates from your heart, that's your soul.
Sometimes I wonder if I am ashamed of who I am and what I look like, but my answer is a rather quick, NO. I do wish I was at a healthier weight, but do I think that makes me any less beautiful? Absolutely NOT. I consider myself that much more beautiful. For one, you can't fit me into what society tries to convince us all of what beauty should look like. I AM beautiful. I strive to dress this body in beautiful dresses that accentuate my natural curves, and make me feel comfortable in my own skin. My feminine beauty.
This sense of confidence doesn't however make me immune to other's comments, insults or opinions. I still feel the sting, but what I feel mostly is the Love they lack. I see you and I send Love and compassion to soften and heal You.
The intention behind the words we choose to speak onto others, matters. Loving someone in their lowest, ugliest moments is Love in its rawest most authentic form. It's easy to Love someone when life feels amazing and everything is going as we wish. But when things are hard, we're moving through darkness, it is then when Love matters most. Marriages are hard because it is easiest to give up, then it is to work through the uncomfortable aspects of ourselves that we refuse to face, acknowledge and thus change. But Love, it has the power to transform, to disarm, to dispel, to transmute.
When society tells me I should be a certain size, look a certain way, create judgements based on their dissatisfaction of my appearance, they are attempting to change their perception of ME through a mirrored perspective of their own complexes.
"She don't see her perfect, she don't understand she's worth it, or that beauty goes deeper than the surface, oh, oh.
So to all the girls that's hurting, let me be your mirror.
Help you see a little bit clearer, the light that shines within.
There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark.
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are.
You don't have to change a thing,
The world could change its heart." (Cara, 2015)
Look at yourself in the mirror and acknowledge all the beautiful facets of you, without shame, without comparison. When you learn to Love the YOU no one sees, that light in your heart, illuminates the world. Your soul chose to be alive at this time, in this body, for a reason. Journey through its lesson.
Sending you all my Love,
Juana
